DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope you can help me with this, I have checked everywhere with no luck. Are there any bus trips to Boston for the Red Sox games? My husband and son used to go when our son was younger and now he would like to take his sons and his dad to a game. Thank you. — Jean Bosse, Auburn, Atruckersmom45@aol.com

ANSWER: Editor Pete Phelan pointed Sun Spots to an advertisement that runs regularly on the entertainment pages at the back of the paper for www.tourbusters.com, 781-8896. They have a trip planned for Sept. 21 to Fenway.

Another option would be to take a commercial bus or the train. Greyhound has buses to Boston from Lewiston. From Portland, Amtrak and Concord Trailways offer those trips. The train and bus station in Portland are right off I-295.

Lastly, there are a few sites where you can fill out a request for group trips. They include http://tinyurl.com/382stx8 and http://tinyurl.com/3aauz6y.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America? I e-mailed her and asked but have gotten no response. According to this website story (http://tinyurl.com/33gs6u4), she is a member, but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she may not be a currently active member. — Deborah Prescott, lemeas@msn.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots received the following from Willy Ritch, policy adviser and communications director for Rep. Pingree:

“The website the reader cited is completely false, and Congresswoman Pingree is not a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, or any other socialist organization or party for that matter. Congresswoman Pingree is a small-business owner who represents Maine families and Maine values in Congress where she has fought to create and save jobs in Maine.”

The definition of socialism, according to Wikipedia, is “an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources.”

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have been looking for my father’s obituary for a long time. I was able to find it in your archives but cannot print it. Can you tell me why it won’t print? — No Name via e-mail

ANSWER: Sun Spots consulted Sun Journal Web Editor Pattie Reaves. She said that Google does not offer a print function from its archive.

However, now that you know the date, you can go to the Lewiston Public Library and print it off the microfiche, if it is available. The librarian said some years are missing.
