An employee from Central Maine Power works to remove a pole and downed power lines at 381 Montello St. Monday afternoon after a Chevrolet pickup driven by Stephen Jalbert, 43, of 248 Central Ave. struck the pole. According to police, the single-vehicle accident occurred about 2:11 p.m. and caused afternoon traffic delays as a crew from CMP worked to repair the downed power line. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
