OXFORD — The United Bikers of Maine of Oxford County will collect toys at two locations this weekend, which they will donate to local children for Christmas.
Toys may be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Maine-Ly Action Sports in Oxford and again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Rumford Information Booth on Route 2.
Also of military interest for Oxford County, families that still have loved ones in Unit 1-66R of Afghanistan and Unit 1-68R of Iraq could use the following food items: food for outdoor cooking over an open fire, ready-made canned foods with pop-off tops, Ramen noodles, quick snacks, cereal bars, pop tarts, gum, slim jims, beef jerky, juice boxes and toiletries. All items collected for the military will be sent to these units.
All collected toys will be given out to families in need in Oxford County. Toys, as well as donations of coats, gloves or winter boots will be accepted.
