As schools open this fall, I am reminded how important it is to support quality education and future job opportunities for all Maine children.
Libby Mitchell plans to be the “education governor.” She has the endorsement from the Maine Education Association. This tells me, as a 35-year teacher and school counselor in public education, that she has answered the tough educational questions.
She will assure that education in Maine will be at its best.
She has shown us leadership in expanding both the Head Start and Learning Results programs. Her plan is to expand the “Jobs for Maine Graduates” program as well.
As one who has asked those tough educational questions of candidates in the past, I know that a proven candidate holding the broadest range of experience earned this endorsement.
I hope others will join me in supporting Libby Mitchell as the next governor of Maine.
