Regarding the Sept. 14 front page article, “Hunter survives attack by bear” — oh, please.
Did the bear hunt out the hunter to attack? No, no, no. The bear was being hunted with dogs. The bear was shot before it “attacked” Ryan Shepard. The animal obviously was terrified, being grounded by dogs and an armed man, but the kicker in this report was the primary investigator stating that he couldn`t determine if the hunter had done anything to spur the attack!?
How about shooting me? That might tick me off.
Oh, and the famous disclaimer that “wild animals are always unpredictable.”
Well, folks, if I’d been run by dogs and shot I might be a little unpredictable myself.
Let’s respect wildlife more than this.
