WINTHROP — Winthrop erupted for six goals in the first half and coasted to an 8-0 victory over Dirigo in a MVC field hockey game Friday.

Erica Ouellette led the way with two goals and an assist. Nikki Scott chipped in with a goal and two assists. Also scoring goals were Sarah Warner, Lauren Kaiser, Shauna Carlson, Cat Ouellette and Sasha Flaherty.

Alyssa Arsenault and Lauren Bryant shared goaltending duties for Winthrop (5-1). Betsy Noyes made 12 saves for Dirigo (1-5-1).

Gray-NG 6, Poland 0

POLAND — Kaitlyn Johnson scored a pair of goals to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 6-0 field hockey win over Poland Friday.

Molly Grangell, Paige Leighton, Meghan Landry and Emily Harlow also tallied for the Patriots (3-4). Olivia Rottari stopped two shots to earn the shutout.

Melora Lavoie turned aside 24 shots in net for Poland (0-6).

Lisbon 6, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN — Lyndsey Whitney and Bailey Madore both scored twice as Lisbon shut out St. Dom’s 6-0 in a field hockey game Friday.

The Greyhounds (3-3) outshout the Saints (0-5-1) by a 52-7 margin. Hanna Jordan and MaKayla Stevens also scored. Haylee Jamison stopped seven shots to earn the win.

Marisa Zamrock made 46 saves in a losing effort.

Livermore Falls 9, Jay 1

JAY — Katherine Ventrella punched in four goals and Samantha Greenwood deposited two more as Livermore Falls battered Jay with a 9-1 victory in a field hockey game Friday.

The undefeated Andies (6-0) leaped out to a 5-0 lead in the first half. Kim Theriault, Erin Gats and Megan Therrien each scored a goal, and Annika Durell collected three assists.

Jay spoiled goalie Caylee Morris’ (eight saves) would-be shutout when Rachel Calden scored in the second half.

Girls’ soccer

Nokomis 2, Oak Hill 0

NEWPORT — Oak Hill enjoyed the advantage in shots and corner kicks, but Nokomis took advantage of a pair of breakaways to post a 2-0 victory over the Raiders.

Sierra Forth scored on a breakaway in the first half and Kelsie Richards broke in alone for an insurance tally in the second half.

Oak Hill (2-4) had an 8-4 advantage in both shots and corners. Darby Ouellette made two saves for Oak Hill, while Emilee Reynolds stopped all eight shots for Nokomis (3-2).

Mt. Ararat 9,

Oxford Hills 1

PARIS — Hayley Michaud registered a hat trick and Celia Ouellette notched a pair of goals to lead Mt. Ararat to a 9-1 win over Oxford Hills in a KVAC girls’ soccer match Friday.

Both of Ouellette’s goals and two of Michaud’s came in the first half which saw Mt. Ararat (4-1) vault to a 6-0 lead. Randi London, Colby Gail, Mary Bastin and Leah Groh each added single goals for the Eagles. Shauna Williams and Shelby Vance split time in goal for the visitors with each registering a pair of saves.

Dayna Schultz scored the lone goal for the Vikings (0-5) on a second half penalty kick. Samantha Hatch stopped six shots before being replaced by Bre Martin, who stopped 12.

Mt. Blue 3, Brewer 0

FARMINGTON — Marlie Mochamer blasted home a pair of goals to help Mt. Blue garner a 3-0 KVAC girls’ soccer win over Brewer Friday.

Emily Ramsey notched the first score for the Cougars (3-1-1) off a corner kick by Rachel Karno. Mochamer gave the Cougars some insurance after she collected a through pass from Mackenzie Conlogue and beat goal keeper Missy Thompson (13 saves) for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Allison Brown made two saves in earning the shutout. Brewer falls to 1-4.

Gardiner 1, Winslow 0

WINSLOW — Kate Turmelle scored with over 30 minutes left in the second half as Gardiner (3-2) held on for a 1-0 victory over Winslow in a girls’ soccer game Friday.

The teams played through a scoreless first half before Turmelle put one in the net.

Winslow outshot the Tigers, 16-8, but Gardiner goalie Jenn Day stopped each shot to frustrate the Black Raiders (4-2)
