In response to Stavros Mendros’ letter of Sept. 10, he wrote, “It gets tiring fighting off tax hikes …” and, “We can’t afford higher taxes …”
These are words worth repeating. Unfortunately, Mr. Mendros couldn’t take advantage of the eye chart printed just above his letter.
Maine opposed ObamaCare, the auto bailout and finance reform. Neither Mike Michaud nor Chellie Pingree listened. A trillion here, a trillion there. Did they read these bills?
Mike and Chellie approved cap-and-trade for our energy bills to skyrocket. Their side staged months of legislative lockouts. Unions got bailouts, while stockholders got trashed.
The tough “Blue Dog” Mike stood up to Nancy Pelosi about 4 percent of the time. Seems more like powder blue to me. We have more bureaucracy and fewer jobs.
Stavros’ “hopes” for bipartisanship are not on the state level, either. Margaret Craven and Dick Wagner shoved legislation at us, causing another expensive, overriding people’s veto.
Mike’s town halls withheld last summer are here now to host Jason Levesque in Farmington, Presque Isle and Ellsworth.
Vote your choice, but if we want to save Maine and the nation, we must walk proudly to the polls and look for Levesque, Scontras, LePage, Kase and Browher on the ballot.
Yes, Congress has finally heard our message because our protests are as loud as thundering hooves of buffalo charging legislators as they scamper for the safety of the Nov. 2 gates that only Maine’s best should pass through.
