LISBON — An out-of-state driver escaped apparent injury and was charged with operating under the influence Saturday night after crashing his car on Ridge Road.

According to the investigating officer, Jason St. Pierre of the Lisbon Police Department, Brandon Crafts, 30, of Cambridge, Mass., was driving south on River Road, when he lost control of his car, went off the right shoulder, struck a utility pole guidewire and ended up in a ditch.

He was charged with operating under the influence and taken to the county jail. He was later released on $100 cash bail, a jail spokesman said.

St. Pierre estimated damage to Crafts’ 2002 Volkswagen Passat at $3,500 in the 10:29 p.m. crash. Crafts was not injured, police said.
