In his first term as Maine House Democratic representative for District 87 (Jay, Mercer, New Sharon, Starks), Paul Gilbert has consistently supported issues that will benefit Maine workers, small businesses and the environment.
He voted for the creation of the Efficiency Maine trust to boost weatherization of homes; expansion of tax incentives to industries that promote tourism and marine trades; expansion of broadband access to unserved and under-served communities; creation of the Maine Health Care Bill of Rights to improve transparency, disclosure and oversight of the health care industry; and expanded rural access to preventive dental care.
During his first term, Paul attended town meetings and community gatherings in his district to keep abreast of community concerns. He is very accessible, and promptly answers constituents’ questions and concerns via e-mail or by phone.
Paul won’t tell us what we want to hear; he listens to what concerns us most.
