TURNER – Roland E. “Rollie” Morris Sr., 67, a resident of Turner, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 19, at his home.

He was born in Livermore on May 14, 1943, the son of the late Arthur and Mary (McGrath) Morris. He attended Turner schools.

He served in the U.S. Army. Many people knew him as Roland, their oil man, and his CB handle was “Oil Man.” Roland worked for Hinkley Oil Co. and L & P Variety of Turner delivering oil. Rollie was also known for the man who waved to everyone as they drove by his home on North Parish Road. Rollie was active in the Turner Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bowling in his younger years. His joys in life were his children, their spouses and his grandchildren. He looked forward to seeing them on a daily basis. He enjoyed being outside, and he took meticulous care of his lawns.

He is survived by his son, Roland Morris Jr. (Eddie) and his wife, Tracy; his daughter, Dulsie Varney and her husband, Troy; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kyle Morris and Audrey and Shelby Varney, all of Turner; two brothers, Millard Morris and his wife, Ann, of North Turner and Oliver Morris and his wife, Nancy, of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Arthur Jr., Henry, Raymond and Freeland Morris; and two infant sisters.
