LEWISTON — Marie-Paule Parent, 95, formerly of 6 Shawmut St., Lewiston, died Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Marshwood Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past three and a half years.
She was born in Lewiston, July 24, 1915, the daughter of Philippe and Alphonsine Grenier Parent. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1935. She worked for many years as an account clerk for the city of Lewiston, retiring in June 1977.
A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to Lewiston Senior Citizens, the Maine Municipal Association, and Union St. Jean Baptiste. She enjoyed spending her summers at the family camp on No Name Pond, and especially enjoyed family gatherings and meals.
Survivors include a cousin, Yolande Vallieres of Berlin, N.H.; and several second cousins, including Richard Belanger and wife, Diane, of Greene.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Lucille T. Parent.
The family thanks Roberta and the rest of the staff at Marshwood for all the compassionate care they gave Marie-Paul.
