SOUTH PARIS — Pearl (Irene) Metcalf Anderson, 88, a resident of Market Square Health Care Center passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19.
She was born in Farmington, Feb. 22, 1922, the only child of Perley and Ethel Murray Metcalf. She attended Farmington schools and Westbrook Junior College. She was employed as a secretary in the Portland Shipyard when she met W. Elliot Anderson and they were married on Dec. 1, 1944.
Pearl’s love of music led her to participate in area minstral shows for many years. She was a longtime member of the “Christmas In A Small Town” productions led by Dan Allen. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Survivors include a second cousin, Andrea Keirstead of Farmington; a sister-in-law, Ginny Miller of Westbrook; a stepdaughter, Barbara Young of Bethel; a stepgranddaughter, Anita Remington of Bethel; several other stepgrandchildren and their families; and her special friend, Bertha Bonney.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband Elliot on July 21, 1986.
