Church speaker

AUBURN — Dr. Al Reichman, representative of Chosen People Ministries, will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 22, during the evening service at East Hebron Baptist Church. He will present “Israel’s Title Deed.”

Clothing center

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 and 16. The clothing center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.

Unitarian service

NORWAY — The First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris invite people to join them for the service on Sunday, Sept. 26. The topic will be “Seeking and Finding Depth” and will focus on the need to find new ways and to reclaim the traditional means of achieving close personal relationships in families and with communities. The Rev. Richard Beal will conduct both services and special music will be presented.

The service in West Paris will be at 9 a.m. at 128 Main St. The service in Norway begins at 11 a.m. at 479 Main St. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome and invited to attend. The website for both churches is www.norwayuu.org.

Texas Hold ’em

NORWAY — Responsible Pet Care will sponsor a Texas Hold ’em tournament Saturday, Oct. 9, at Charlie’s Entertainment Center, 246 Main St. There is a $55 entry fee.

Doors will open 11:30 a.m. and the tournament will run from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a cash bar and food and refreshments will be available.

Worship service

SOUTH PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Sept. 26, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St. Her sermon topic will be “Who Are We?”

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, organist, and the choir. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

Volunteers

OXFORD — The Oxford Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help with a spook walk at the Community Center. All volunteers, whether it be teenagers, businesses, parents, grandparents, are welcome.

A meeting for all those interested in helping will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Community Center. The Halloween Party will also be discussed, with plans to expand on it and add a little more for the kids to do.
