FRYEBURG — The Maine Beef Producers Association and the Fryeburg Fair will again sponsor a club calf show and sale at the fair on Friday, Oct. 8, following the market steer auction. It will be an opportunity for breeders to showcase animals from their herd. It will also give interested 4-H youth a chance to check out show prospects for next year.

For breeders interested in participating in the event, bulls and steers must have been born after Jan. 1, 2010, while heifers have to have been born after Sept. 1, 2009.

There is a $40 entry fee for consigners, who must also be MBPA members. If not already a member, the $35 membership fee will be deducted from sale monies. Consignments shall have been weaned prior to Sept. 1, vaccinated and dewormed.

Animals will be weighed on Thursday evening this year, although animals may arrive earlier in the week if needed. For more information, contact Sale Manager Ed Carter, at [email protected] or 737-2872.
