LEWISTON — The Dempsey Challenge, a community fundraising event for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, has more than 3,700 registered to participate and over 500 people signed up to volunteer.
“The outpouring of support from the community has been amazing,” said Wendy Tardif, event manager. “This is a huge event and requires a great deal of volunteer support with over 800 positions to fill.”
The greatest volunteer needs are for parking attendants on the mornings of Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2 and 3, course marshals for the run/walk on Saturday, course marshals for the rides on Sunday and green team volunteers for the recycling program.
All positions are described on The Dempsey Challenge website and registration is also available online at www.dempseychallenge.org.
