The opening statement of my letter of Sept. 12 explained that the letter contained a series of questions voters might ask. In spite of that, the structure of the sentences was in the form of questions punctuated by question marks which David Marquis (letter, Sept. 16) did not seem to recognize.
Either Marquis was unable to accurately assess the content of a letter, or he purposefully distorted my thoughts in order to smear me.

My letter made no claim that Barack Obama was racist, but did ask that question after observing his actions.
Concerning Marquis’ claim that I said the war on terrorism is a war on Islam, he must be expressing his ideas and not what my letter said. However, I think we all would like the reassurance from our Muslim citizens that they are loyal Americans and condemn their fellow Muslims who are terrorists.
Do they have a hard time doing that and still remain true to certain passages in the Quran?
