LEWISTON — Sherman Coburn passed suddenly on Monday, Sept. 20, with family at his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 21, 1938, son of the late Clayton Coburn and and Althea Small. He was educated in Sabattus schools. He became a paratrooper in the Army.
He worked many years as a contractor, until his retirement, after which he enjoyed being outside and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed decorating for Christmas in memory of his sister.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Noella Coburn; two sons, Lee of Brunswick and Dennis of Delaware; four daughters, Kim and Karen of Maryland, and Joyce and Angie of Lewiston; three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Clayton Jr.; two sisters, Brenda and Becky; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a loving sister, Gail Martin.
He will be missed.
