JAY – The Jay School Department’s maintenance and transportation director has taken a job at SAD 52 in Turner.
Sue Weston of Jay starts Friday as the new facilities and transportation director.
Weston has held the Jay job for 11 years, she said.
“I have the opportunity to go to a larger district in the same position I hold here,” Weston said. “I am looking forward to the change and will surely miss the professional staff I have worked with all these years.”
The Turner district has 2,100 students, six schools, a sewer treatment plant and central office. The district also includes the towns of Greene and Leeds.
Jay has nearly 800 students, three schools, a bus garage and a shared community building in Jay.
Jay Superintendent Robert Wall said the maintenance/transportation director position has been posted. Applications have come in and the position will be filled when a suitable candidate is found.
In the meantime, Jay will be filling in with its current staff, he said.
Weston will join former Jay School Department Business Manager Deborah Holland, who holds the same position in SAD 52, and former Jay secretary Ida Barker, who is a payroll specialist for SAD 52.
