NEW GLOUCESTER — The Cancer Community Center invites walkers, runners and strollers of all ages to participate in the fifth annual Hit the Trails Walk and Stroll fundraiser and the new Combat Cancer 10K Trail Race on Sunday, Sept. 26, at Pineland Farms. Funds raised from the event support the Cancer Community Center, located in South Portland.
There will be a 5K walk, a one-mile stroll and a 10K race, all through the wooded trails of Pineland Farms. Registration will start at 11 a.m.; the walk, run and stroll will start at 1 p.m.; and afterwards, people are encouraged to enjoy a barbecue, music and awards. There will also be a bounce house, games and face painting for kids.
Community members may also purchase a Trail Marker, which will be placed along the trails in honor, memory or support of a friend or family member. Trail Markers can be purchased by contacting the Cancer Community Center at 774-2200 or by going to www.cancercommunitycenter.org.
