My Gripe: Could somebody help me explain to the Department of Human Services that taking one’s driver’s license away for being behind in child support does nothing but make it imposable to pay.

I’m a career truck driver who has developed spine degeneration and can no longer pass a DOT physical. Being disabled I was offered to be retrained; I took advantage, got a good job working with children with mental disabilites.

The career requires my license, so I had to resign. With no insurance, on a waiting list for MaineCare, and working thru the disability process, I now find myself living off the state. Who wins? NOBODY. Time to rewrite the book.
