The Rumford Police Department provides this information to the public in an attempt to keep it informed about recent  crimes, trends and patterns. If you have any information about any of these events, please notify RPD at 364-4551, ext. 303.

Between Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., patrol officers responded to 77 complaints. These do not include routine traffic stops.

Charges

Sept. 22 at 7:15 p.m.:, Tylor Hutchins, 19, of Rumford was charged by Patrolman Donald Miller wiht illegal possession of liquor by a minor on Waldo Street. Hutchins is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 2.

Sept. 22 at 7:48 p.m.: Allan Hussian, 18, of Rumford was charged by Patrolman Donald Miller with furnishing a place for minors to consume on Waldo Street. Hussian posted $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 2.

Sept. 22 at 7:48 p.m.: Nicole Rispoli, 18, of Rumford was charged by Patrolman Donald Miller with furnishing a place for minors to consume on Waldo Street. Rispoli posted $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 2.

Sept. 25 at 9:49 a.m.: Derek Harnden, 19, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Donald Miller on a warrant for burglary, theft and violation of conditions of release on Prospect Avenue. Harnden was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

Sept. 25 at 10:41 a.m.: Michael D. Richard, 55, of Rumford was arrested by Cpl. Douglas Maifeld on a warrant for permitting unlawful use on Maine Avenue. Richard was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

Sept. 26 at 9:01 a.m.: John R. Bernard, 31, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Donald Miller on a warrant for unpaid fines on an assault on Hancock Street. Bernard posted $830 cash bail and was released.

Sept. 26 at 3:38 p.m.: Rhonda Breton, 27, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Ian Theriault for refusal to sign a UTT summons for a charge of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia on Oxford Avenue. Bernard posted $100 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 2.

Assault

Sept. 25 at 5:37 p.m.: Patrolman Theriault investigated an incident where a Rumford resident was assaulted on Oxford Avenue. Victim refused to press charges, and warnings were issued.

Burglary

Sept. 21 at 5:22 p.m.: Cpl. Maifeld is investigating an incident where someone kicked in a door on a vacant property on Knox Street.

Sept. 26 at 9 a.m.: Cpl. Maifeld is investigating an incident where someone stole a ($100) Garmin GPS out of a vehicle parked on Oxford Avenue.

Sept. 26 at 10:56 p.m.: Patrolman Miller is investigating an incident where someone stole a camera and wallet out of a vehicle parked on Pine Street. Estimated loss $200.

Sept. 26 at 1:01 p.m.: Patrolman Miller is investigating an incident where someone stole change and paperwork out of a vehicle parked on Pine Street. Estimated loss $5.

Criminal Mischief

Sept. 21 at 6:20 a.m., Patrolman Miller is investigating an incident where a street sign was damaged on River Street. Approximately $100 in damages.

Sept. 23 at 2:34 p.m.: Patrolman Winson investigated an incident where a tire was slashed on Waldo Street. Approximately $100 in damages.

Sept. 25 at 9:45 a.m.: Sgt. Higley is investigating an incident where items were damaged at Hosmer Field. Approximately $40 in damages.

Theft

Sept. 20 at 8:58 p.m.: Sgt. Higley is investigating an incident of a cell phone stolen from Hosmer Field. Value of loss estimated at $100.

Wanted

Angela Woods, 30, of Rumford is wanted on a Rumford District Court warrant for unpaid fines for theft.
