Would it be possible, during one of the upcoming gubernatorial debates, to have the candidates begin by stating one thing that they completely agree upon with their opponents?
In a political sense, we are becoming so polarized that the likelihood of any real change taking place in Augusta or Washington seems minute.
I am not suggesting that Republicans and Democrats join hands around the Blaine House and sing “Kumbaya,” but when there is no consensus in the beginning, there can be no compromise in the end.
