AUBURN — Marjorie Eleanor Laprise, 85, of Auburn, died at Clover Manor Health Care Facility on Saturday, Sept. 25. She was comforted by her two sons and went peacefully.

She was born in Auburn on July 25, 1925, the daughter of John T. and Neva (Bickford) Bradbury. She was educated in Auburn schools.

Marjorie, or “Nana” as she was known to many, enjoyed babysitting, baking, reading and crocheting. Those who have her blankets and dolls will cherish them always. As a fantastic baker, no one could resist her cakes, cookies or gingerbread men.

As owner and cook of the snack bar at the Fantastic Fair in Auburn, Margie served many delicious meals to standing-room-only customers. She was also a loyal employee of Seltzer and Rydholm in Auburn until her retirement in 1984.

She is survived by her two sons, Maurice P. Laprise Jr. of Boothbay Harbor and Larry J. Laprise of Auburn; one brother, John Bradbury of Auburn; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Laprise Sr.; her daughter, Dorothy Zamrock; two sisters, Nathalie White and June Reynolds; and four brothers, Harold, Thomas, Sherman and Ernest Bradbury.

A special thank you to all the staff of Clover Manor, who loved and cared for her over the past four years, and to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their care and support.
