This is in response to Steve Anctil Sr. (letter, Sept. 22) concerning Paul LePage and how he treats his employees (of Marden’s).
I used to work for Marden’s in Rumford and I know the company does offer health insurance. The pay is comparable to any similar job. Employees receive a larger discount on merchandise than that offered by another department store. Furthermore, I believe that employees are treated quite well there. We got regular lunch and coffee breaks, and occasionally got treated to pizza or barbecues.
If this was any of Paul LePage’s doing, then I believe he will do a great job as governor.
Maine needs a businessman in Augusta, not another politician.
If Anctil is going to criticize LePage for what Anctil thinks happens at his stores, then I can certainly praise LePage for what I know to be fact.
