CUMBERLAND — Roland H. Bellefleur Sr., 82, a resident of 361 Tuttle St., Cumberland, died peacefully at his residence Monday, Sept. 27, following a long illness.
He was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada on July 16, 1928. He was the youngest of 16 children. He was married to the former Jeannine Ouellette and she died in 1988.
He served with the U.S. Navy in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. Roland was employed for many years as a specialized service manger for the Navy Exchange. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Roland is in the Hall of Fame in Lewiston for the St. Dominic Regional High School hockey team in the Class of 1946. He was a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 106 of Lewiston.
He is survived by one son, Roland Bellefleur Jr. of Bowdoin; and one grandson, Kyle Bellefleur of Lewiston.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by one son, Glenn R. Bellefleur.
