FARMINGTON — Dane is a handsome rotti-shepherd mix and has been at the Franklin County Animal Shelter for some time. He is now about 16-months-old and just like any teenage boy, he has his good moments and his naughty ones.

Dane needs a loving and an understanding home, said the shelter staff. All the social interaction and manners he has learned has been at the shelter and they do not have the time to train him for what he has the potential to do.

He does jump and is a little mouthy, they said, but his breed tends to be a little mouthy. He is a smart boy and if someone had the time to spend on him, he would be a happy-go-lucky family dog, they said. He rides well and gets along with most dogs.

Anyone with a little time to spare is invited to stop by the shelter at 550 Industry Road and visit with Dane.

Staff at the shelter also reported that during the shelter’s Fair Deal special on cats, they adopted out more than 60 cats. New dogs at the shelter include a male beagle from Farmington, a lab from Farmington and a chihuahua from Kingfield.
