Paul LePage says he wants to reduce welfare. He certainly took advantage of the system through his wife, collecting property tax rebates from both Maine and Florida. Are they Maine residents or not?

LePage needs to be more specific about his definition of welfare. Will he also cut corporate welfare? Medicare is not welfare. All workers’ wages are taxed to help pay for Medicare, plus each retiree is charged a monthly fee, taken directly out of their Social Security check.

He complains that the welfare rolls have increased, but many people have lost their jobs and have been without work for many months. Do we tell those people to eat grass and live on the street?

Libby Mitchell has demonstrated that she can work with both political parties. I’m voting for her, because she has the common sense to understand that it’s about all of us.
