When someone is running for the highest office in the state, people have a right to know the facts. Paul LePage and his wife’s tax questions are not a paper error, as his campaign staff reported; they are deception and false information.
I also own property in Florida and Maine. I proudly claim Maine as my residence.
LePage won the Republican primary and that is why his wife got her Maine driver’s license re-issued in July, 2010. Now they are trying to cover their tracks. You cannot claim exemptions in both states. The laws and Florida statutes are clear.
If LePage and his wife can’t keep their personal financial affairs straight, I can only imagine how much trouble Maine could be in.
I cannot support anyone, Republican, Democrat or independent, who would knowingly use that type of deception. The voters have a right to know and it is public information.
