PARIS — The board of directors for the McLaughlin Foundation has announced it is raising funds to support ongoing operations at the historic garden.
“These are critical times for area nonprofits,” President Bruce Rood said of the foundation that was incorporated in 1996 to preserve the historic garden created by Bernard McLaughlin and to establish an educational center for horticulture and preservation.
“Our board is committed to securing our future and right now that means getting creative with new fundraising programs.”
The fundraising programs include the sale of leaf green support wristbands, which cost $5 and are inscribed with the saying “Grow McLaughlin Garden.”
The foundation is also conducting a raffle. Tickets are being sold for $100 each with sales limited to 300. Cash prizes totaling $6,000 will be awarded, and the winning tickets will be drawn at the Gardens Holiday Social on Dec. 3.
Bracelets and tickets can be purchased at the garden gift shop or from any board member. More information about the McLaughlin Garden’s upcoming programs can be obtained at www.mclaughlingarden.org or call 743-8820.
