Cribbage winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Sept. 30 were: first, Norm Bissonnette and Roger Labbe; second, Bob Leclair and Dick Dennis; third, Cecile LeBlond and Arnie Burgess; fourth, Edith Chambers and Leo Muise; fifth, Sandy Oliver and Jim Craven.

Retired educators

AUBURN — Members of the Androscoggin Retired Educators Association will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Park Avenue Methodist Church. The annual scholarship auction will be held and attendees should bring auction items to the church by 10 a.m.

Following the auction there will be a pasta buffet for $12. During dessert, Mary Seaman, who coordinates the Homeless Student Program at Lewiston High School, will speak. Public meeting

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Historic Preservation Review Board will hold a public meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Lewiston City Council Chambers, first floor, 27 Pine St.

The meeting will focus on a proposed Bates Mill Historic District being nominated to the National Register of Historic Places by the Maine Historic Preservation Commission.  

The meeting will feature staff of the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and will include a brief overview of the proposed historic district’s history and importance to the community.
