 CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clement F. Cronin, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away on Sept. 30.

He was born and raised in Boston. He worked as an operating engineer and was initiated into IUOE Local No. 4 in 1945. He was elected and primarily served in the state of Maine as business representative of Local No. 4.

He was past president of the Maine State Building Trades Council. He retired in 1995. He was an avid reader, loved history and music, and had a talent for reciting Irish poetry and stories. He was a private pilot. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and was a devoted animal advocate.

He is survived by four daughters, Patricia McKay of Largo, Fla., Christine Cronin of Largo, Fla., Mary Clark of Bangor and Karen Taylor of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren; a sister, Claire Cronin; and a brother, James Cronin.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Cronin; and one grandson.
