Buckfield 5, Valley 4 (OT)
BINGHAM — Cam Allen scored on a penalty kick with two minutes left in overtime to lift Buckfield to a 5-4 win over Valley in EWC boys’ soccer action Tuesday.
Allen led the Bucks (5-4) with a hat trick, while Trevor Averill netted two goals to complete the scoring. Valley (0-9) was paced by Carrington Miller with two goals, while Brandon Johnson and Julian Jackson also tallied.
Garrett Hamann made nine saves for Buckfield, while Brandon Bruyette deflected an amazing 22 shots between the posts for Valley.
Mt. Blue 1, Hampden Academy 0
HAMPDEN — Colton Hall’s goal with 5:36 remaining was the difference as Mt. Blue defeated Hampden Academy, 1-0, in a KVAC boys’ soccer match.
Hall found the back of the net off a Sam Richardson corner kick to improve the Cougars’ record to 6-3-1. Matt Crowley made three saves for Mt. Blue.
Logan Poirier notched one save for Hampden Academy (4-4-2), which outshot Mt. Blue, 9-6.
Morse 3, Oxford Hills 1
PARIS — Eric Trautman led a trio of players to record goals Tuesday as Morse hustled to a 3-1 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC boys’ soccer matchup.
Taylor Odliefson and Flemming Milke also tallied for the Shipbuilders to complete the scoring. The Vikings (2-8) received a lone goal from Ryan Stuart with an assist from Derek Morin.
Grady Madden made 13 saves for Morse, while veteran keeper Matt McVety turned aside seven shots for Oxford Hills.
Livermore Falls 3, Jay 0
LIVERMORE FALLS — Jacob Freeman scored the opening goal and picked up the assist on Livermore Falls’ final score as the Andies dismissed Jay (0-8-1) with a 3-0 victory in boys’ soccer Tuesday.
The Andies (4-5-1) scored all three goals in the first half. After Freeman scored, Travis Neil and Henry Seidler followed with their goals, with Zach Vigue and Tom Bizier picking up assists.
Livermore Falls dominated the game, outshooting the Tigers, 15-4. Andies goalie Ethan Hutchins had a light afternoon in net, making one save.
Lewiston 8, Cony 1
AUGUSTA — Shobow Saban scored the eventual game-winning goal as Lewiston rattled off eight goals in an 8-1 victory over Cony in KVAC boys’ soccer action Tuesday.
The Blue Devils (8-2) got things started when Eric Hall headed a relay from Eric Morin. Saban’s goal was a threaded shot from seven yards out that passed over the shoulder of the keeper and caromed off the bar and into the net.
Casey Bechard spoiled the shutout with an unassisted tally for the Rams (0-9-1) with 6:45 remaining in regulation, the last goal of the contest.
Waynflete 4, Gray-NG 3
GRAY — Tucker Geoffroy clinched the win for Waynflete with this second goal of the game in a 4-3 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC boys’ soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
The Patriots (6-5) posted the first goal on a tally from Ryan Sullivan. But the Flyers (6-0-2) rung up a pair before the half to make it 2-1 at intermission.
Jack Martel contributed a penalty kick and a direct kick to put the Patriots up briefly in the second half. But Paul Runyambo tied the game and Geoffroy notched the winning tally at the 38:34 mark.
Goalie Ryan Cavallaro made 12 saves for Gray-New Gloucester, while Zach Majercik turned away 13 shots to earn the win in net for Waynflete.
Leavitt 2, Oak Hill 1
WALES — Zack Fullerton scored the game-winning goal to lift Leavitt to a 2-1 triumph over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ soccer action Tuesday.
The Hornets (4-6-1) had the better run of play in the second half, scoring a pair of unassisted goals. Elliott Wiegman posted the first of the two tallies.
Dalton Burns recorded the lone Raiders’ (5-5-1) goal in the first half.
