Maine needs a governor who understands the global landscape, who will take proactive steps to improve the business climate, and has the professional expertise to do the job. If ever I was concerned for the future of this state, it is now.

My job with the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council is to attract and retain good-paying jobs and businesses. I see firsthand the challenges facing the business community. Large and small economic development projects are virtually impossible to pull off due to the adverse regulatory business climate.

The next governor is going to have to bring public officials, business owners, citizens and a divided Legislature together to foster a bold vision that will promote economic growth and induce innovation.

Forging consensus on a bold vision requires a special kind of leadership and Eliot Cutler is ready for the challenge to lead us to a new prosperity.
