AUBURN — Emily Ranucci recorded a hat trick Tuesday as Edward Little raced away to a 4-0 victory over Twin-Cities rival Lewiston in a KVAC field hockey matchup.
Tori Couture also tallied for the Red Eddies (8-3-1) to complete the scoring. Amanda Williams made 10 saves for EL to notch the shutout.
Allison Lafreniere turned back 15 shots in the cage for Lewiston (2-11).
Waynflete 6, Poland 1
POLAND — Alida Farrell netted three goals to lead Waynflete to a 6-1 romp over Poland in WMC field hockey action Tuesday.
Meredith Nelligan chipped in for the Flyers (8-4-1) with two goals, while a single tally from Nyanen Deng completed the scoring.
The Knights (0-13) got their lone goal from Heidi Chipman off a corner with an assist from Alissa Gosselin.
Kailina Milk made three saves for Waynflete, while Melora Lavoie turned aside 16 shots between the posts for Poland.
Leavitt 2, Winslow 1
WINSLOW — Casey Fichter broke through the circle with her pass and Adrie Newton took Fichter’s pass from there, scoring the winning goal in the second half at 8:46 as Leavitt (8-2-1) escaped with a 2-1 victory over Winslow (8-3) in a field hockey game Tuesday.
In the first half, Winslow struck first on a counter-attack off a Leavitt flury. Jennifer Pallin took a Michelle Green feed and scored at 11:19.
The Hornets answered quickly and tied the game on a corner when MyKayla McCann scored on an Amanda Jordan pass.
Leavitt goalie Taylor Eells earned the shutout in net. Winslow outshot Leavitt, 13-10.
Girls’ soccer
Erskine 2, EL 1
SOUTH CHINA — Sierra Tjelmenand converted a pass from Raven Carlton with 15 minutes left in the first half to lift Erskine to a 2-1 victory over Edward Little in KVAC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
Meryl Bond also tallied for the Eagles to complete the scoring. Kory Norcross grabbed a nice pass from Emily Grund to put the Red Eddies (4-5) on the board.
Jessica Souther made 10 saves for Erskine, while Taylor Landry turned back nine shots for Edward Little.
Monmouth 3, Lisbon 3
LISBON — The Lisbon girls’ soccer squad battled back from a 2-1 deficit to pull out a 3-3 tie in MVC girl’s soccer action Tuesday.
Brooke Lawrence netted a pair of goals for the Greyhounds (6-2-2), while Chelsea Huston knotted things up at 3-3 with 11:58 remaining.
The Mustangs (5-4-1) received a pair of goals from Colby Wilson, while Ashley Coulombe provided the team’s first goal. Kyrstin Ramich made six saves for Lisbon, while Kelsie Hilton turned aside 18 shots for Monmouth.
St. Dom’s 6, Carrabec 0
AUBURN — Sophie Goulet netted a hat trick Tuesday to propel St. Dom’s to a 6-0 rout over Carrabec in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt.
Clara Bosco chipped in for the undefeated Saints (9-0) with two goals, while a single tally from Stephanie Costello completed the scoring.
Veteran keeper Mary Caron stopped five shots for St. Dom’s to record the shutout. Marisa Murray turned back nine shots for the Cobras (2-7-1).
Dirigo 3, Jay 1
JAY — Natalie Bolduc scored a goal in each half to lead Dirigo to a 3-1 victory over Jay in MVC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
Paige Murphy also tallied for the Cougars (8-2-1) to complete the scoring.
The Tigers received their lone goal from Alexi Deering at 5:11 in the first half. Bryce Parent made nine saves for Dirigo, while Beth Moore turned back six shots for Jay.
Cony 4, Lewiston 3
LEWISTON — Rebecca Fowler found the net with 23 minutes left in regulation to lift Cony to a 4-3 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC girls’ soccer battle Tuesday.
Suzanna Deeves, Hayley Quirrion and Olivia Boivin also tallied for the Rams to complete the scoring.
The Blue Devils (1-9) received goals from Maegan Mathon, Tori Denis and Kenzi Sullivan. Shayna Perkins made 20 saves for Cony, while Makenzie Maselli turned away 29 shots for Lewiston.
Buckfield 5, Valley 2
BINGHAM — Abby Bragg notched a hat trick to lead Buckfield to a 5-2 victory over Valley in EWC girls’ soccer action.
Alicia Patrie and Arrabine Dunn scored the other two Buckfield goals. Patrie and Bragg also tallied an assist for the Bucks (2-6-1), while Katie Corson and Danielle Patrie combined to make five saves in net.
Cindy Schultz scored both goals for Valley (0-9).
Mt. Blue 2, Hampden 0
FARMINGTON — Hannah Allen scored on a cross from Abby Flanagan in the first half and Flanagan topped off the scoring with her goal in the second half as Mt. Blue held off Hampden Academy (6-2-2) with a 2-0 victory in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.
In the first half, Allen scored 9:02 into the game on a Flanagan assist. The Cougars (5-3-2) responded again in the second half when Flanagan scored unassisted.
Hampden and Mt. Blue played each other equally, with shots on net coming in at 10-10. Mt. Blue goalie Allison Brown turned away the Broncos with seven saves.
Poland 0, NYA 0
NORTH YARMOUTH — Sophomore sweeper Sophia Spiller played superb defense for the Knights, keeping North Yarmouth Academy’s offensive advantage from resulting in any damage in a double overtime scoreless tie inWMC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
The Panthers (1-5-3) outshot the Knights (3-7-1) by a 20-2 margin.
Goalie Cassie Mocciola made 13 saves for North Yarmouth, while Caroline Bowne prevented the only two shots she faced for Poland.
