NORWAY — Barbara R. Davis, 86, of Oxford, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in South Paris on Oct. 21, 1923, the daughter of Giles and Helen (Downing) George. She graduated from Norway High School and had been a secretary for WMTW Channel 8.

She married Arthur G. Davis on July 10, 1945. She was a great mom and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, taking pictures, birds, moose watching and working in her garden. She loved her family and fishing with her husband in Upton. She was a den mother for Brownies and Scouts.

She is survived by her son, James Davis and his fiance, Sue Hynes of Oxford; her daughter, Genie Petrocelli and her husband, John, of Mechanic Falls; five grandchildren, Christopher Davis and his girlfriend, Nicole Sciacca, Lisa Paradis, Laura Larivee and her husband, Paul, John Petrocelli Jr. and his wife, Cassie, and Jeremy Petrocelli and his wife, Erin; great grandchildren, Emily and Olivia Paradis, Samuel and Nolan Larivee, Joshua and Grace Petrocelli and Molly Petrocelli; a sister, Betty Hackett; two brothers, Robert George and Richard George; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband on Feb. 25, 2005; and a brother, Tom George.
