Amber Lee, 10, of Hamden, Conn. finally got her hands on a pig during Wednesday’s Open scramble at the Fryeburg Fair — but it got away. Amber was a crowd favorite because of her size but ended up being one of only two who didn’t get a pig. The next scramble at the fair is Friday in front of the main grandstand. Fryeburg Fair sponsors four scrambles during the 8-day fair.
Redman, an 890 pound Duroc boar, strolls over the scales Wednesday to be weighed. Accompanying him are, from left, Steve Akerstrom, Cliff Brown, Skip Clark and the pig’s owner, Brian Stidson of Prouty Farm of Rutland, Mass.
