LEWISTON — Marie-Therese Arenburg, 86, of 11 Dimsdale Ave., Lewiston, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 3, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lewiston, March 29, 1924, she was the daughter of Emile and Marie-Blanche (Lessard) Malo. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1943.

On Oct. 14, 1950, she married Clarence Arenburg. Marie-Therese worked for many years as a billing clerk for Central Maine Medical Center, retiring in 1989. Always very musical, she was a talented singer, appearing on several local radio stations in the 1940s and early 1950s. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, serving as the church’s choir director in the 1960s, and was active in the Ladies of St. Anne.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Clarence, of Lewiston; a daughter, Carolyn Arenburg of Lewiston; two sisters, Charlotte and husband Marcel Deschesne of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Celine and husband Charles DeSanto of Winter Park, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Carmen Malo of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Henry Malo.

The family extends a sincere thank-you to the staff of the Lewiston-Auburn Kidney Center, as well as to her caretakers from the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
