Kudos to Mike Wells (Sept. 28) for writing what a lot of other people are thinking. It awakened my ire for injustice.

Government officials should put middle-class Americans on their endangered species list and protect us, not harpoon us with every entitlement program they conceive that encourages people to do little or nothing to help themselves. That just fosters the attitude that those people deserve it and we owe them.

The more we give away, the more we will have to give away in the future. It will never end and it doesn’t work.

Sounds like Wells’ life philosophy of working hard, living within his means, taking time to make good, common-sense decisions that affect him financially and socially works.

More people should try it.
