The Tree of Caring will be lit again this year thanks to the Bulb Committee of the Western Maine Veterans’ Advisory Committee. Bulbs are sold to anyone who wants to honor or remember a loved one. The tree will be lit in early December. In the lobby of the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, a listing of all donors and the names of those they are honoring will be posted from Thanksgiving through Christmas. The bulbs are sold for $5 and can be purchased at the home or by mailing the donation and bulb information to Richard Young, bulb committee chairman, 159 Paris Hill Road, South Paris, ME, 04281. Pictured, from left, are Ken Butterfield, treasurer, WMVAC; Joe Cooney, co-chairman, WMVAC; Gene Bickford, co-chairman, WMVAC; and Richard Young, WMVAC bulb chairman.
