Society meeting

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Peru Historical Society Building.

Extension meeting

PERU — The Peru Extension Homemakers will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Peru Baptist Church. There will be a speaker.

Those attending should bring a healthy dish to share for a potluck lunch. New members are invited.

Class to meet

RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1948 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Route 2 Diner.

Food drive

FARMINGTON — The Trinity United Methodist Church of Farmington will sponsor a food drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15 and 16, at the Save-A-Lot parking lot, 684 Wilton Road.

The drive will benefit the Care and Share Food Closet which serves the towns of Farmington, West Farmington, New Sharon, New Vineyard, North New Portland, Temple and Chesterville.

Donations of cash, check, nonperishable food items and personal care products will be accepted.

Rummage sale

STRONG — The annual fall rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the United Methodist Parish Hall on Main Street, across from Beal’s.

Class lunch

RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Covered Wagon. For more information, call Isabel Duguay at 562-4241.

Headquarters open

BETHEL — The Bethel Republicans 2010 campaign headquarters will open at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at 14C Main St., across from the Bethel Town Office.

All Bethel Republicans are invited to attend the opening event. The headquarters will be open from 9 to noon every Saturday until election day, or when the open sign is out.
