AUBURN — The Auburn Exchange Club will sponsor a talk by former Maine Attorney General Steve Rowe on “The Importance of Early Education on Maine’s People and Economy,” on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant, 755 Washington St. A dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

In his talk, Rowe will explain why early childhood education is important to Maine’s economy. He will also explain the current status of early education in Maine and comment on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Rowe served as Maine’s Attorney General from 2001 to 2009. In that position, he headed an office of more than 100 attorneys. He prioritized and championed issues related to children and families, affordable health care, consumer protection, civil rights, domestic violence and elder abuse.
