LISBON — A 21-year-old Lisbon Falls man, James Fish, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence following an accident in Lisbon Falls early Sunday morning.

According to the investigating officer, Shawn Kelly, Fish was driving north on Main Street when his car veered off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. He was not injured, and his passenger, Robert Kendrick, 25, also of Lisbon Falls, suffered a small cut when his head hit the windshield, Kelly said.

Damage to his 2007 Nissan Altima was estimated at $3,000, and there was no damage to the pole in the 2 a.m. crash.

Fish was initially booked at Lisbon police headquarters and later taken to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he was released on $60 cash bail, a jail spokesman said.
