MEXICO — The following accidents were recently investigated by the Mexico Police Department.

A vehicle traveling south on the Roxbury Road struck a utility pole on the opposite side of the road at 11:27 p.m. Oct. 7. The driver fled the scene. The 2002 Ford Mustang was destroyed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.

A vehicle driven by Stephen H. McDonald, 66, of Kennebec Street, Rumford, struck a mailbox on the River Road at 3:52 p.m. Oct. 1. The four-door Chevrolet sedan sustained $2,500 damage.

Vehicles driven by Nitasha R. Fifield, 18, of Rumford, Dale Carlton, 66, of Lancaster Street, Dixfield, and Norman R. Roy, 77, of Old Canton Road, Dixfield, collided at 3:23 p.m. Sept. 30 on the River Road. Fifield’s 2003 four-door Chevrolet sedan sustained $3,500 damage. Carlton’s 2006 Toyota pickup sustained $10,000 damage. And Roy’s 1991 Chevrolet pickup sustained $400 damage. The right corner of a 1983 unregistered Oldsmobile, owned by Alan Sutherland, address unknown, that was parked in an auto salvage yard, was also struck.
