RANGELEY — Curtis Haley, president of the Rangeley Rotary Club, recently announced the Rangeley Lakes Regional School Students of the Month for September. They are: Regan Sargent, twelfth grade; Chantal Carrier, eleventh grade; Sam McMillan, sixth grade; Natalie Brooks, sixth grade; Melissa Hazen, fifth grade; Kimberly Villela, third grade; Ella Shaffer, first grade; and Tucker Doblier, kindergarten.
Each month, students are chosen by the teachers for their exemplary attitude and lifestyle that demonstrates the slogan of the month. In September, the slogan was “Respect.”
The students were awarded their certificates at an all-school assembly on Oct. 1. This is the third year of student of the month program at the school. Two students are recognized each month from the following groups: kindergarten to grade two, grade three to five, grade six to eight and grade nine to 12.
There is a theme each month based on the school core values. Themes for this year are: respect, leadership/reasonability, integrity, perseverance, self control, attitude, compassion, tolerance and service/citizenship.
The Rangeley Rotary Club treats all students of the month and their parents to lunch. Throughout the year, 72 students will receive the recognition.
