SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford County Educators Association-Retired will meet Friday, Oct. 15, at the South Paris First Congregational Church, East Main Street. A social will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 11 a.m. and lunch at noon.
The program, at 12:45 p.m., will be a meet and greet with local candidates and the fundraiser will be an apple pie sale.
New members are welcome and invited to attend. Prospective members would be people who have retired from jobs in classrooms, libraries or lunchrooms of public schools in Oxford County in the last few years and who are interested in meeting with their peers six times a year for programs about schools and retirement problems.
Reservations for the meeting and dinner should be made by calling 743-7677.
Members of the association are contacted by a phone chain for their reservations to meetings held in September, October and November. After the winter recess, meetings are renewed for April, May and June with locations different for each month. A variety of fundraisers are held to raise college scholarship funds for area students.
