WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Wilkins House in Waterford Flat. The focus of the meeting will be on scrapbooks and oral histories. The society is beginning to catalog an extensive collection of scrapbooks dating back to the 1890s.

Guest speaker for the evening will be Cynthia Kugell, an art teacher at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. She will demonstrate scrapbook materials and archival techniques.

Oral histories currently are being collected by the society and there will be forms on hand to help people with that process. Following a business meeting and the speaker there will be potluck refreshments.

The final meeting for 2010 will be on Veterans’ Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, at North Waterford Church, with a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m.
