LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Thomas O. Auger was celebrated on Monday by Monsignor Andrew Dubois at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During the service, the New Testament was presented by Tom’s son-in-law, Michael Sweeney, and the offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Tom’s daughter, Nancy Hunt and her husband, David Hunt. Delegations in attendance at mass were from VIP Auto Discount Centers throughout New England and various auto and tire supply representatives that Tom and his family had worked with over the years. Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Monsignor Dubois recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. The U.S. Air Force Honor Detail played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to Tom’s wife, Mildred, in recognition of her husband’s service to his country during the Korean Conflict. Bearers were David Hunt, Michael Sweeney, TJ Auger, Chuck Sarchi, Robbie Robins and Pat Boulette. At the conclusion of committal services, all were then invited to a reception of fellowship at the Chic-A-Dee Restaurant in Lewiston.
