AUBURN — The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department is accepting youth basketball registrations for players in grades one to 12.

Teams of up to 10 players will be formed in five different divisions: first and second grade, third and fourth grade, fifth and sixth grade, seventh and eighth grade and ninth to 12th grade. A volunteer head coach and assistants will instruct players under the supervision of the Rec Department.

Students playing on the high school basketball team are not eligible for the program. The season will run from Nov. 8 through Feb. 19 and registrations will be accepted through Nov. 5. Cost is $40 for residents and $50 for nonresidents.

Open gym is also being offered at the Hasty Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday for adults and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for kids high school age and under.

There will be no open gym from Oct. 21 to 29 due to rentals and activities in the gymnasium. Open gym will continue on Nov. 1.
