CARTHAGE — New England Celtic Arts will host the acclaimed Irish duo Brendan Begley & Caoimhin O Raghallaigh on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center.

Born into a famous musical family, the youngest of nine children, singer and accordionist Begley soaked up the music and song of West Kerry, one of the most mountainous regions of Ireland, from an early age.

He has released three solo albums as well as numerous recordings with the groups Boys of the Lough and Beginish. He is featured on two albums by the Chieftains, “The Long Black Veil” and “The Bells of Dublin.” With the Boys of the Lough, he has toured the Estonia, Finland, Sweden, France and the United States, and has been featured repeatedly on the “Garrison Keillor Show.”

Raghallaigh, a Dublin-born fiddler who also plays uilleann pipes, flute and whistle, is gaining recognition as one of the most creative musicians in traditional music. Since his successful 2003 “Kitty Lie Over” album with uilleann piper Mick O’Brien, he has performed in the United States, Canada, Alaska, Asia and throughout Europe. He has been the subject of numerous television documentaries.

Tickets to the 7 p.m. concert are $10 at the door. There will be a preshow jam session starting at 6 o’clock. For reservations, call 562-4445. Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road.
