LISBON – Lisbon Rec Grade 7-8 football defended its home turf with a 30-6 victory over Winthrop.

Lisbon (4-2) moved the ball consistently throughout the game. The first quarter included a drive that lasted more than five minutes, and the second quarter included a 14-play scoring march.

Notable offensive players included Joe Philbrick with thirteen carries for 103 yards, including three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion; Sean Ball with three carries for 22 yards; RJ Sargent with two 2-point conversions; and Kyle Bourget with five carries for 72 yards, including one touchdown. Bourget was 2-for-2 through the air for 35 yards, including a pass for a 2-point conversion.

There were big quarterback sacks from the defense and a total of eight fumble recoveries. Acknowledgements go to Philbrick with seven tackles, including one QB sack, three assists, and causing two fumbles; Darren Ward with causing one fumble; Henry Adams with a fumble recovery; and Bourget, who caused a fumble on a kickoff and recovered a fumble.
